Home Sweet (Temporary) HomeWhile Coyle Hall is built, the dorm community is residing in Zahm Hall.
This building was recently renovated, and features modern amenities and comfortable living spaces for students.
The building is home to a variety of room types, including singles, one-room and two-room doubles, two-room triples, and three-room quads, as well as apartments for hall staff.
A small handful of doubles and singles have private bathrooms, but for the most part, each floor has two communal bathrooms.
Each floor also has a lounge, with couches, microwaves, a TV, sink and more.
The 1st-3rd floors also have study rooms, and the fourth floor has a study nook.
Laundry is on the first floor, as well as hall offices and the mail room.
The basement, which has A/C, is home to a large common area, with ping-pong, pool, and foosball tables, as well as a large TV and couches.
It also has a communal kitchen, a second kitchen for our own in house sandwich shop, Ellie's Deli, storage, and a gym with free weights, a treadmill, cable machine, bench, and more.
Check out the images of various rooms in the building below, including common areas and first-year rooms.
The Basement
The Zahm Hall basement is a popular gathering spot for residents, and features plenty of space and seating.
It has couches, tables, benches, chairs, and study nooks, as well as a large TV, a piano, and game tables so the Crew can relax and unwind.
The gym and kitchen are also in the basement.
Each week, the dorm community gathers in the basement for hall government meetings, where residents can discuss upcoming events, share ideas, and voice any thoughts they may have.
There is usually food, and it's a great way to stay connected and involved in the dorm community.
Throughout the week, you'll find guys playing ping-pong, working out, or just relaxing and studying, and on Sundays, you'll find the Crew hanging out and cheering on their home football teams.
The Chapel
The Chapel of St. Albert the Great, located on the first floor of Zahm Hall, is a holy place where the community gathers for Mass and prayer.
Each week, the Crew come together to celebrate Sunday mass and daily mass throughout the week, complete with homemade ice cream on Wednesdays.
The chapel has various works of art framed and placed throughout the room, and the piano and instruments inside enable the Coyle Dorm Choir to sing at masses.
In addition to masses and sacraments, the chapel is also a meeting place for the dorm community, where we come together to discuss bigger topics.
